Denial. Take Me Back.

~Okay so the most crazy a** thing just happened. I was glancing over the stats page and notice a bunch of hits coming off eBay.  I'm all wtf is this about? I'm not selling myself on eBay. Cut to scene and someone linked my sequin pants post for the J.Crew sweater.  Can you imag? I mean shouldn't they send you an email before they put you on blast on eBay?  What if my mom's on there and thinks I'm for sale?  I'm gonna have some 'splainin' to do. ~

Little aside there before I launch off into the reality:  Christmas is over.

You've probably already realized that, but my head's been stuck in the chocolate sand.

I've been sitting here all week trying to maintain a perpetual state of holiday.  Is that you reality?  Uh, I'm not home *she says while eating just one last chocolate*.  Suddenly work hit me like a brick between the eyes.  You mean I can't go meander off all afternoon for lunch, cocktails, mindless shopping that produces bags of treasures I should be giving away but am keeping for myself?  And don't even get me started on how I'm supposed to work my way out of needing an afternoon nap.  After 2 full weeks of afternoon naps I'm a hot mess come 2pm when I can't lie down.

Oh Christmas, come back soon.  *throws self on floor and bawls eyes out*

It was only yesterday:
Gifts wrapped carefully, placed gently beneath the tree.
Daily deliveries from the UPS man.
chocolate. all day long chocolate.
Christmas morning treats.
Impromptu mid-day margarita pitstops.
And glorious naps with the cat.

Where did it all go?

Start planning a vacation. Thats what I do when the holidays are over. Tonight I started planning a trip to Hawaii.

Oh yeah, clearly I don't mean a real vacation. But I guess normal people would plan that, too.

i know what you mean it hit me today when i drove down wilshire and santa was missing from the sky and when i stopped by the grove and where the tree once stood is a lot full of sand looks so barren :(

Wait, all day chocolate snacks is only supposed to happen during Christmas? Well now I know why my new year's diet plan never works... :)

I love that sweater, the sparkles are gorgeous. These are all great pics. That's weird about the ebay sales too. Happy New Year,

I know you are going to think I'm stalking you after responding to your Facebook and twitter so rapidly. I feel like the needy girl in high school... so here I am. haha

I really think you should just take a nap. Go for it. 2 o'clock comes along and just sleep. I think siestas are there for a reason.

Speaking of stalking, I was thisclose to buying you on eBay.

Anytime Arlie (my oldest daughter) sees a delivery truck she starts squealing, "Mommy's boxes!". So maybe I had a little too much fun with holiday sales. :)

Sparkle on and munch on chocolate all year long! I totally saw another eBay auction where the seller used a bloggers photo! Weird!

I loved that photo of you opening your iPad. I am so happy you got it. It will really help with the carpal tunnel pain.

I was basically in the same boat Carrie ~ considering out of 10 days I only worked 2 of them! I miss eating when I want what I want and the naps ~ oh the naps! This week I am rolling into day #4 and honestly it is killing me. Thank God for Friday ~ not sure what the hell I am going to do next week when I have to work 5 in a row.
Lucky girl getting an iPad! I bought Trev one for our anniversary last summer and he carries it around like Linus with a blanket ~ good job Lori ~ best gift I ever bought him and that makes me smile. Hope you are enjoying yours too! xo

I had chocolate every meal, every day. That sadly came to an end when my jeans almost suffocated me yesterday.

I still plug in my indoor holiday lights each night, so you're not the only one in denial! Twinkles are fun ...

You are kidding--where did it all go? Can I still eat leftover pies and chocolate for breakfast with my coffee? I took my tree down a few days ago--and now my house just feels empty! By the way--I love the sweater. :)

We took the Christmas tree down this past weekend, and I spent 20 minutes saying goodbye to it.
I'm not kidding.
I love Christmas THAT much.

Oh my goodness, I need that margarita, followed by a cat nap in the sun. Christmas, come back to us all!

Oh man, using your photo to help sell their stuff on ebay? That is so uncool. Unless they are giving you a cut of the profits. Is it more offending or less that they used a direct link instead of saving the photo and uploading it themselves?

Also, it's still 100% christmas in my house, and I even still have some chocolate left in the stocking. Since I didn't bake any cookies until the day before, I also didn't give any away, which means they are slowly being devoured by me, and me alone. What's five dozen divided by one?

Claire Kiefer said...

I'm happily in denial and haven't even considered taking down my tree, because I'm certain that with it will go my happiness. It's not fair that Christmas is only once a year! I suppose that's what makes it so special, but my goodness, we don't even have another (legit) holiday to look forward to for many months! Valentine's Day is fun and all but . . . lord knows it ain't the same.

The naps! I think I took a nap every day for 9 days straight. :)

Always helps...the chocolate cravings, I can't help you with as I'm in the same boat. Nomnomnom.

Oh man, I totally feel the same way, I can't really take the holidays leaving so abruptly! I usually leave the xmas stuff up still way after I should. :)

It happens! Hope your's was awesome!

Now I'm depressed. We finally took the tree & all the decorations down today and I moped and pouted like a child most of the day. I was just kind of coming round *read drinking a cocktail* and then I read this and it all came flooding back. It was AWESOME and I hate this reality shit that is January.
