Good Days, Old Days, Return to Days

Friday afternoon.  On Monday morning you'd swear it seemed a lifetime away.  This is a great one, too.  The sun's shining so warmly and brightly here in SoCal after days of rain and then brisk cold that wavered just enough to where you almost thought you could get away without socks.  Chef's outside sanding something, cats are tussling about, and I'm sitting here waiting on my last client call of the day while munching on warm buttered toast, with a cup of tea at my fingertips.  Nancy Grace is moments away...perfect way to end the week.

Spring is so close I can taste it.  The return of Charlie's Angels style - bell bottom everything, clogs for days, crochet and fringe and crazy embroidered peasant tops.  I looked at so many old pics with my mom when visiting Canada, and am not sure why I didn't cart some back.  A mint green wide-leg jumpsuit she wore way back when is burned in my mind.  I gotta get that pic and scan.  You will d-i-e!  Until then...

i've never contemplated hookah -
yet suddenly want that contraption in my space.
or just the whole space in general would work, too :)

and my inner hippie - how about you?

And now for an evening of cocktails as Nancy unleashes the lawyers.
Have a great one!

I went to an international boarding high school and all of the students from the middle east had the most beautiful hookahs in their dorm rooms. Some are insanely intricate and beautiful.

I know! Come up to the bay and I will take you to Kan Zaman, one of my favorite restaurants in the upper Haight, where there are belly dancers and spiced wine and hookahs for the table. :)

Ohhh spring. Don't tease me with thoughts of spring. There is a snow storm brewing out my window. Spring couldn't seem further off.

Enjoy the cocktails! If we get snowed in here I plan to rely heavily on cocktail hour. (That can start in the morning, right?)

Wow ~ talk about a blast from the past. Glad you can see spring because we are buried right now!! Ventured out today and the roads coming home were like driving on a skating rink ~ I want spring and I want it NOW!! I do not know if I can go through 3 more months of this.... Hope you are having a wonderful week-end.

My New Year's "resolution" is to embrace my inner hippie, as you call it, by just being well. Number one on my list is yoga! Do hippies do yoga? I don't know, but they are both chilled-out and relaxing things I associate together. I hope you have a marvelous weekend. I can't wait for Spring too...clogs sound so nice right now! Heck, SoCal sounds so nice right now!

i love me some hookah! but i only like the hookah's at middle eastern restaurants where they have real hookah flavors, not the strange grunge rock teenager hookah lounges that seem to be all over here (they have gross candy flavors - ew).

i can't wait for spring!!!

I am still dreaming of some snow but could do without the rain.

Went shopping downtown yesterday and then the Grease musical and I was adorning my inner hippie with my fringe vest and yes I bought those wedge boots.

I am so done with winter... but it will be months until it fully disappears here in Canada! Maybe I should consider moving southwest, not just west! lol
Love the photos, hopefully you'll get to embrace your inner hippie soon enough! xx

Sounds as though you are having the perfect day, Carrie dear! I am currently polishing off my last two Godiva chocolates from Christmas stocking and sharing a cup of milk with my kitty (of course her portion is in a little bowl which she dips her paws into and licks off, lol!)

The holidays went by too quickly, I could use a few more days off work, but I am also eager to move forward into spring.

PS regarding your Usher comment: Perhaps besides all his wealth he still does not believe in being wasteful...?? Totally gross non the less, lol.

hahaha ok, this is totally random, but i HAD a hookah (not what you're thinking). my brother brought it back from Turkey. it's supposedly non-working, but ii wasn't allowed to take it back to school with me. i think it's still living at my parents house. hope they're enjoying it. :P
