Sale-ing On Into the Weekend

First I just want to thank everyone who commented or emailed after yesterday's post.  I appreciate your heartfelt words and admissions.  It's nice to hear different perspectives and share ideas on how to live a more balanced life while still contributing to the blogging community.  Posts will still continue, but maybe just a day's break here and there and at different times.  Thanks again everyone!

And now...the weekend is here and I think it's going to be a full scale under-the-bed-hider if any of us want to avoid the amazing deals going on out there right now.  Why is it that just as I'm going full systems STOP on the wallet it's mayhem on the high sales seas??

It really is a cat's life...and someday, hopefully, she will take the tree down, too.

Here are some I'm attempting to avoid at all costs:
  • Piperlime extra 20% off sale...I might have to freeze my wallet to avoid these mothers.  And these.  And holy mother of these.
  • Madewell 20% and free shipping on any order til Tuesday.  Noooooooooooooo (bellered out like the cuckoo bird from The Bodyguard - you know you saw it!!  Whitney Houston was not insane then - she was every woman!).
  • Tobi has a bunch of new markdowns...I already got sucked in once this week and have allowed my wallet to be placed in an unmarked location so as to stop the self-inflicted wounds.
  • Ella Moss has 30% off a bunch of stuff.  The Eternity Cardigan is currently trying to reel me in.  I'm a sucker for anything that is soft and looks great with leggings and boots.
There is one promotion going on, however, that I do highly recommend you indulge in and that would be Melinda Maria's offer of 30% off everything, including sale, in her online store. All you have to do is type in FREEBIRD30 at checkout to get the price reduction.  I know I wax on about her stuff a lot, but it really is incredibly versatile and so fun to mix and match.  (apologies on poor picture quality below)

Today I wore the Pyramid Spike Bangle in gold,
And I realized I need at least one more of each of the bangles, so
that is my gift to self this month...and maybe these sale
earrings too because summer's coming and turquoise is a must!

The promo's on through January 15th so there's still a bit of time to think it over.  If you get anything let me know - I'd love to hear what you choose.  And if you have any questions don't hesitate to let me know.  I've worn her jewelry for years, so am happy to help in any way.  There are several others out there who are becoming experts, too...he he

Have a great weekend!!

Oh the sales. You know Ive fallen victim to quite a few. (I dont have the Buxom set I linked in my post yesterday, but I do have quite a few of their products - always amazing. Anyway.) I may have ordered 5 MM bangles. And I might have my eye on a couple more. And some hoops.

Send help.

Oh, you shouldn't have showed me the spike bracelet in gold! The silver one I wore from you is very loved. I still need to find out my ring size, (which is constantly changing.... thank you, PMS), so I can order that ring. xo

Sales, Sales and more Sales! I need to just stop looking because it's hard for me to pass up a good deal and being me, I have this ability (just like most) to justify about any purchase!
Have a wonderful weekend!!! xoxo

ps Great post yesterday (just reading it now)!

Seriously I have barely been able to avoid anything. My mum texted me yesterday and said "sending an SOS I am a shopaholic" I text back and said " I am currently in the dressing room trying on a big pile!" These sales seriously need to stop... I need money to live lol

I'm lucky that I'm in Boston at a conference all weekend and super busy, otherwise I would totally curl up with a blanket and tea and online shop all weekend.

The Steven by SM Maryn boots came to live with me last month and we have become the best of friends. I think I'm in love.

Is it wrong to encourage you?

I almost had to skip this post because everything is SOOO tempting! Gah! No more shopping for me... unless the sale is really really good (hee hee).

Oh no. Those Belle boots are calling out to me. Phew! Thankfully they're out of my size. That was a close call. I'll be in hiding all weekend to avoid these sales. Oh, I keep forgetting to tell you I finally got my pod ring in the mail and I LOVE it! It's amazing. I've been wearing it all around town.

Have a great weekend, Carrie!

I'm also trying to keep my credit card in a reclining position in my wallet-it's too easy to write off a few extra dollars in the sake of sale!

We're trying to save money for a house! No temptations! Aah! HAha, I tempt everyone on my blog all the time. It's so hard to save money when there are great sales! Happy weekend, Carrie!

Oh the temptation! The python ring is calling my name. I know I planned to stick to a stricter budget in 2011, but maybe just this once... ;0

Girls! Check the sale for the Margo Circle Ring...it's one of my faves and totally in a decent price range:)

So tough to resist the sales everywhere right now!

I love the Grecian ring in blue topaz a LOT as well as the Pod Pave black diamond ring and the Sassy ring in Amethyst. But while the 30% off is tempting, I just cannot spend money on myself right now, given my teacher-career and now doubled rent (no roommate!). I'm gonna send this to my stepmama though cause she loves MM jewelry and she can afford it! :)

LOVE the pyramid spiked bangle but I'm with you Carrie trying to hold back and not purchase anything for a little while. These sales are tempting but we have fun colorful items coming for spring!!

Imagine how hard you'd have to hide your wallet if you lived a grand total of 5 minutes away from a shopping center containing a Free People, Madewell, LOFT by Ann Taylor, Juicy...BCBG... oh dear. Not a good situation for my bank account. Although my closet thanks me :)

Instead of sales this year, I've been obsessed with looking up cheap airfares for vacations - so many great deals if you book in January! Hope you're having a great weekend...how CUTE is your cat!

I'm just getting caught up on all of the blog posts from the past week and hadn't had a chance to reply to your post about balance. I know *exactly* how you feel. I want the blog to be fun, but at some point it starts feeling like work. And let me tell you, my day job is enough stress for this lil' lady.

I feel like most people read blogs via Google Reader and the like and don't really pay attention to how often a post appears - it's just a nice little surprise when it does.

To keep my own sanity in check, I'm only reading other's blogs once during the week and then on one weekend day. I just can't keep up daily anymore and keep a personal life (especially since I'm single and I need to be a little more social now!) I just don't know how some people do it!

Anyway. I'm staying away from the sales pretty well. Knock on wood. But I did go shopping today and purchased a non-sale pair of shoes. I missed the memo on sale shopping.

Just placed my order on Melinda Maria, thats so much for the discount code. I have been wanting a certain necklace for ever, and 30% was a great excuse to by it, and of course I also bought a ring. I hope my stuff looks awesome and the pictures don't do her designs justice. Thanks for sharing
