Cast A Net

The Santa Ana winds are blowing and the weekend was sunny and warm, but somehow I just couldn't seem to get off the couch.  I guess days of sheer nothing are sometimes in order.  Thankfully Sunday remained bright and cheery, so I threw on a fave wide knit sweater over a simple tank dress to take in some rays (before returning back home to watch the first Sex and the City movie again).  The air is still a little brisk, but with a knee high boot I managed to take on the day successfully.  Now if I could just handle 5 days of work with the same optimistic attitude.

Minnetonka-Hi Fringe Boots c/o Langston's, Anthropologie-Sunnies~
 ~Free People & Motif56 Bracelets, Melinda Maria-Link Oxidized Ring~
Is it me or does the knit on the sweater remind you of a fishing net?
There was a point in time when I almost convinced myself
I could live without it.
Thankfully common sense took over.
Same goes for the Fringe Leggings.
By the time I snapped out of it I had to call 10 stores to locate them.
Frenzy much?
Once again an early summer look peeks out of the closet.

I remain dutifully on wallet restriction 2011 and am rather enjoying it.  That being said I will make an exception for the odd item if it can be used for spring and summer, and/or if it is on steep sale.  I had watched this sweater since August or September.  I missed it at Shopbop and Bloomingdale's and tried to put it out of my mind.  Then a couple weeks ago took a chance and called Ever directly...they had one left in the warehouse and weren't even sure where it was.  It showed up two days later.  I guess some things are just meant to be and taking the risk to get them makes them all the more sweet.

Here's to the week going by quickly and smoothly...Hope you had a great one!

Hope you were as busy doing nothing on the couch as planned (Whoa! Holy shit-tastic sentence structure, Annelise!) and that your ankle is on the mend.

Love these boots. Love the whole outfit.

Carrie, love those boots... you are such a cool chick! Stop teasing me w/ your California weather.... we are having Canadian like cold here... I opened the door to let the dogs out and they backed up... it's THAT cold! I am fantasizing about the Pelican Hill in Newport but Tim, (a.k.a. funsucker), shut me down... damn college tuition! xo

Look at you, hot tamale! Some day I will get the boho look down, but in the meantime, I shall live vicariously through you, Carrie! (And still jealous of your weather)

K I love this whole outfit! The sweater, the boots, you styled it perfectly. I can't believe the weather you're having. I bet you don't miss the Alberta climate one bit! Oh, and I know how to play the castanets ; ) I was a Spanish Dancer for three years. Your title reminded me.

Dying over the fringe leggings. How adorable. At first I thought they were part of the boots. Oh it is love.

I agree that wallet restriction can take a backseat when sweaters like this are involved (especially if there's a sale). I love the entire look and I'm dying over the weather. With that being said, I could barely pry myself off the couch this weekend too. What's the deal? I did make it out for a while to enjoy the sunshine, but I should have spent the whole weekend outside! Oh well. Hope you had a great one, Carrie.

The sweater was fate. I had that same thing happen with a DVF dress. It was the "Jessica" wrap a couple of years ago with the ginkgo leaf print. I obsessed. Saved up. Obsessed. And obsessed some more. Once I was finally ready to take the plunge, it was sold out online.

Gasp.

I called a few stores and Nordstrom was able to track it down in Seattle. Phew!

So, aside from the adorableness that the dress and I share the same name, the customer service gal was named Jessica too. Fate.

Sorta kinda mad at you right now for being in a climate where you can wear that outfit right now. Want to know what the temperature was in Indianapolis on Friday? 0 degrees. Yea. I know. Sick.

Oh girl ~ now the weather is not "brisk" in So Cal compared to what it was here today ~ let's just say that any brass monkeys that were outside today are looking for something! Love that sweater ~ it's the wide knit that makes it great for layering ~ looking good ~ as per usual of course. xo

You look amazing, as always! What I would give to be able to walk around in an outfit like that. I'm definitely getting more than sick of my puffy down jacket. =)
