Fur Hats in the Forest

Did you ever see Bridget Fonda in Point of No Return?  It's a little cheesy, but I like it because it's a female spy-type movie and Bridget does a great job balancing hardcore bad a** with an emerging soft side.  Once when I lived in Canada and was out for dinner with a girlfriend, some guy randomly walked up and told us I reminded him of Maggie (Bridget) in Point of No Return.  Normally something sarcastic would have rolled off my tongue, but I was so flattered someone thought I was a spy that I just turned a bright shade of red and muttered "um, thank-you".  Ha ha!!

Last week when we were at the parents it dipped down to -25 one day, so I donned my fur trapper hat and headed off into the trees to live out my spy dreams - sans a hand gun, any secret missions, and a fake identity, of courseI bet I could kick someone's head off though.  Oh Bridget!

I would have added captions in between, but all we were screaming at each other was "COLD, COLD, COLD, COLD COLD!" and "did that one work?, do we have enough?, did the camera shut off AGAIN?!" before I finally just snapped and went racing off toward the house through knee deep snow while the Chef chased after me in his bright green toque (beanie).

Can you believe we have to go back to work tomorrow?  I'm not even sure I can remember how to get out of bed when the alarm goes off...and what about all the cookies and chocolates?  Whatever will they do without me??

Hope your holidays were marvelous!

Too funny. And I am not sure what the cookies and pie will do without me or if I can fit into anything work worthy.

You look like a damn profesh model! And tell Chef that he takes some amazing photos. I can only imagine the banter that went on while trying to take photos in -25 degree weather! Classic. I am seriously in love with the trapper...If it gets any colder here I might need one!

xo

P.S. Those pics were taken in Lake Sherwood...familiar with that? Like 45 min. north of your hood aka Suburbia!

That hat is amazing! Maybe if I had a hat like that I could be convinced to take the dog outside on winter mornings (new england+winter+6am = brrrrr). Probably not, but I might float the idea to husband just to get a fuzzy trapper out of the deal =)

Oh spy, it really looks cold there :) And yeah, I can tell you how hard it was to throw the alarm clock out of the window this morning. I think I get pregnant or something to just not have to work.
Ok, no good idea, think.

Anyways, welcome back from the snow country and enjoy some sun!

Besos!

I think we both know how much I adore giant black fluffy hats that keep out the cold - love this look! And man of man, the weather gods and all my e-town friends will strike me down for this but I do a miss a bitterly cold Edmonton winter - it just isn't the same when the coldest it gets is -5 and there's so snow!

I cannot get over how cold it is there. I can't even imagine how cold -25 feels. But you fin d a way to look adorable even in that weather! I LOVE your trapper hat and you do look like a female spy! Were you just delighted to come home to rain in LA?? UGH. It just won't quit. It spoils my ice skating plans EVERY TIME. Haha. I hope you had a great nye! At the very last minute, I traded in my night home alone for a quiet dinner with a girlfriend at a restaurant a block away from my place. It was perfect and I was still in bed by 10pm. Happy New Year!!!

Thanks for your comment lady! To answer your question, I LOVE my DSLR. It's sort of easy to use, you kinda need a little bit of camera knowledge to understand how to adjust some settings. But it does have a "guide" mode that can help you along. I also bought a book when I bought it that was a huge help in understanding what all the settings were and how to use them. Hope that helps!
