I swear that mother stood for 2 days with no lights as I strolled off to bed in tears at 2:30am carrying a fist full of my own hair!!
Perhaps it was kismet for all my tree tricks at the lot. Whatever the case may be I am calling it a year (and a shot of tequila). Serves me right, too - that's what I get for getting all wound up at the tree lot over a too big tree. I'm lucky the ornament police didn't haul me over for not enough-itis.
After all the shenanigans that comprised tree trim 2010, please allow me to share some of my faves of what has turned out to be a very fun tree...
It all started in Seattle...
I saw this cat ornament and it was on like Donkey Kong!
I had to fly through Seattle a lot that holiday season.
Every time I did I made sure to get another cat ornament!
And another (note fur coat in background!!)
And another!! It actually went on for a
couple of years this cat ornament collecting game of mine.
How about this cute hot air balloon?
Could only be better if a cat was in it. hehe
And then there was fur!
This year I added some xo's courtesy of the kind
people at West Elm...who gifted a couple sets
to me when they saw the frazzled look in
my eye around Thanksgiving. Love them!!
There she is in all her glory...bearing enough lights to kill the breaker if you
try to vacuum and dry clothes at the same time. Oy

Hey after all the adventures, your christmas tree turned out wonderful!! I adore those cat ornaments and omg to those lil furs!!
I still need some more gifts but I´m almost done. I didn´t really decorate our place this year as we don´t spend christmas days at home. I fly to my family on wednesday, if the weather allows it...
I wish you a beautiful week and in case I wont comment before christmas, I wish you a lovely holiday time sweetie!!

I am mastered totally by Love.
By my passion of love for Love
I have ground sweet as sugar.
Thanks...wonderful Lady...
I remember similar light debacle's when I was growing up. Eventually my parents remedied this with a pre-lit tree and a remote. It apparently scarred me because I won't attempt to light a tree. Our fake one is pre-lit and Jared lights the real one. Me and my temper couldn't handle tree lighting madness!
So worth it. Gorgeous my dear and love that you got the faux fur coats!
FAB tree!! Glad you got it done...I get alot of original ornaments similar to these at Lorraines online, have you ever heard of it??
Stop by and say Hello:)

It's gorgeous Carrie! Loving the little cat ornaments ~ I will spare you the Boston Terrier ornament I bought in Montreal ~ missing my girl while I was away ~ it screamed to me from across the mall. Hope you have your woolies packed for the trip to the motherland. xo
it's beautiful - what a work of art!!
All I can hear in my head is that song... the 12 things of Christmas that are such a pain to me... you know the part where the guy says rigging up the lights?! I am going to think of you from now on. The mini fur coat ornaments are my fave!! xo
ohh she's beautiful!! my tree has my one and only ornament this year, but seeing as it's my first i'm quite proud hehe

LOVE this tree!!! Too bad you had all those dumb light problems though.... XD

Aw, haha, poor you! That would be so infuriating, I can only imagine! I also got a way too big tree. It fills my room, and I don't have enough lights/ornaments to really fill it. Oh well, they all turn out pretty in the end, and yours, m'dear, looks lovely!
You have an absolutely gorgeous tree. Love all your ornaments and some of the cat ones are hilarious. Do you have any fun Christmas plans?
xo
awww what a pretty tree carrie! I love getting out the ornaments every year-each one has it's own story :)
Your tree looks amazing! I especially like your cat ornaments!
Regardless of the misadventures, your tree still turned out splendidly beautiful and whimsically you. Happy holidays!
Your tree looks great! Mine fell on me three times this year. Never happened before. Looks to be holding OK now.
Finally some pics of the tree!!! YAY! And I LOVE!!! the fur, the kitties and the sparkle of white lights, yummy!!!! Glad you survive the rain doll, I would be said without our banter!
xx-T
Well it may have taken you a while to get it up but it looks amazing so I think it was all worth it - I love how sparkly and bright it is and the ornaments are unique and have stories behind them (which is always good).

Tree is great...of course I LOVE the little fur jacket ornaments! Let me tell you about my cat ornament...(we adopted a cat last week) so this morning I was having coffee and noticed the tree shaking...a few seconds later out popped the cat's head. It must have been a sight to see me trying to reach this cat and not have her freak out as there were already ornaments flying off the tree! Needless to say, I like your cat ornament a bit better!
Happy Monday! xoxo
Wow... That's one gorgeous Christmas tree. All the lights and decoration!!!! I wish I've got one for my home :( But that would be a waste though, I'm gonna be off for Christmas holiday soon...
Your tree is beautiful. I had the same light issue this year. Make me crazy.
Speaking of lights, I must know the exact name/kind on your tree. They are so white and beautiful.
When you get a moment...thanks!
I am in love with your cat ornaments! The whole tree looks amazing. Do your cats ever climb up it? We can't put up a Christmas tree because we find my cat in the branches and the ornaments under couches. She destroys it.
Oh, and yes, it's chilly here so bring your parka!
I am so glad you finally were able to get the lights in working order. What a stressful event. it paid off my friend, your tree looks so beautiful. I am impressed. xo
That is a CRAZY Christmas light story. I'm glad it turned out okay but man, that's a lot of hassle. Gorgeous tree!
Carrie!! Your tree is magnificent! It looks like a tree that would be on display in a department store somewhere . . . except with much cooler ornaments. I'm smitten with the fur coats--they're the most precious, ever. And the hot air balloon! My goodness gracious alive.
so pretty, carrie! you have a future in tree decorating, my friend.
xx
oh no! haha, well i applaud you for facing your challenges with determination and humor. do you now have christmas PTSD? :) it looks Gorgeous, so your hard work did pay off!!!
well I have to say, the trouble paid off! I double heart your tree!!! and the fur coats...OBSESSED!!! if they were leopard, I think i'd pee myself w/excitement.
guess its a good thing they're not. HA!!!
And in the end all was well! :) The tree looks gorgeous with so many seriously fun ornaments and I just LOVE those xo's! I hope shopping goes smoothly and you're all done today!! XO
Your tree look so whimsical!
NICE job Carrie!!!!!!!! Your tree looks perfect!
xx

Beautiful tree, Carrie! I love the cat ornaments too!! They are so festive and fun.
Here is to a fast week! :)
M
Alas, you got the tree done...and the fur looks even better than I imagined! So dreamy and chic. Stay dry lady!
Beautiful tree! Love the whimsical ornaments.
So pretty- I love your tree.
What adorable ornaments, darling Carrie!
Your tree is beautiful!

Holy mother - sounds like you had some issues. Good thing it wasn't me, because I would've probably just given up and canceled Christmas ;)
Love how the tree turned out though - and especially love all of the cute cat ornaments. I'm going to need to get myself a few of those!
Carrie, your tree looks absolutely gorgeous! I'm in LOVE with the XO's and the fur coats. The cat ornaments are adorable too. I hope you get your shopping done today! I have one last minute gift to pick up today and then I'm completely done! But WHAT is up with the never ending rain?? This weather makes it hard to leave the house.
xo

i had the same problem with lights, everywhere i went they were sold out?! It was nuts. Glad your tree got some twinkling lights :)
Is that a fur coat ornament? That is the cutest thing I've ever seen!
Wow, that is a pretty epic saga. I think of it as "Operation Christmas Tree: 2010"...but although it was stressful it was well worth it!! The tree looks amazing and I love your ornament collection! I wish one of the cats was wearing a fur coat....
I need new lights, too, and now I am scared to even go look!
Wonderful decorations!
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
OMG sweetie, I have to say all of your sweat and tears were well worth it!!! It looks fabulous! And I'm swooning over those furs. Too adorable! xoxo
Yay tree! So very festive and full of light :) :)
Carrie, your tree looks GORGEOUS! So silvery and sparkly. And it's huge! So stunning. I love the ribbon and the XOs (thank you, West Elm!).

Oh goodness, your tree is BEAUTIFUL! I fell kind of in love with that cat ornament and quite enjoyed this second chance to peek at the fur ones :) Sigh, after a totally workcrazed week where I could not go online for anything fun, it's so lovely to be return to the amazingness here!
Hope you enjoy a craze-free week (is that asking too much?) ahead!
It's SO pretty! Great job! Every year I'd watch my mom agonize over lights not working lol. Maybe that's wht these past two Christmases I haven't decorated ;)
Glad you got it all worked out!
Carrie, all of your craziness with your tree was totally worth it because it turned out to be PERFECT. Seriously, I just love all of your unique ornaments! I've had to aruge with Tyler over how many Bama ornaments are allowed on the tree (which is one, maybe 2). I'm pretty sure he keeps sneaking more on there while I'm not there. That boy.
Oooo, it's gorgeous and what fantastic decorations you have!
Yes I think I can see your tree from here. haha
It is stunning and so glad you were in my neck of the woods for your cat crazed ornament theme.
oh, your tree is glorious! thanks for posting photos - my tree is bare this year. silly kittens think it's their jungle gym, and now we might have to take it down early. seems they've possibly been munching on the (fake) needles, and it might be a digestive problem...
boohoohoo! i don't think i've ever not had a tree! so you can see why it's nice to live vicariously through your beautiful one. :)
i saw mini ugly Christmas sweaters at World Market this weekend and it made me think of you and your fancy furs! ;)
Bella - Seattle has it all!
Kelli - that's crazy about your kitties eating your tree!!
Kacie - those sound rad! Did ya get any?
oh it looks so pretty! i love your x's and o's. i was really considering buying some.. then i told myself to make some instead, but i never got around to it!
glad you finally got everything up!!
I can so relate to this! I am very good at blowing fuses:-). The tree looks fab though and love the ornaments, especially those fur ones! Awesome job Ms. Carrie:-) XX
It may have been an uphill battle, but now that it's done, it looks STUNNING!
I just saw your comment where you indicated that you're going to Canada! You're brave and you'll definitely need that electric blanket! We have family in Brampton and they wanted us to visit, and i had to inform them that no visits would take place at this time of year-it's too freaking cold there! Anyway, with that said, have an awesome time and layer up:-). XX
Your tree looks awesome!! I have a sad little Charlie Browner this year :( Way too much on my plate to fight it anymore...Charlie Brown it is!
http://www.glamlatte.com
oh my gosh! That is one amazing tree! I've never been able to make my tree look half as good as that!
http://red-soledfashionista.blogspot.com/
I have such a soft spot for quirky ornaments. They're so much more fun than elegant ones!
I'm surprised by how much rain you're getting there. Trade you for our snow?
Oh, you're still well ahead of me. I have a charmingly tragic Charlie Brown tree that I finagled lights onto about a week ago, but my family's tree is sitting here with no lights - it's a real one, which I've never had before. It's rather exciting, but here's hoping we can get the lights and ornaments up before the actual holiday. Sheesh.
Love the cat ornaments, how fun! I have a Shetland Sheepdog so my mom signed me up for an annual Sheltie ornament from the Danbury Mint. They're completely adorable and I shamelessly keep them out as dresser decorations for much longer than I ought to...
Casee I love it...don't think my whacked out brain doesn't try to think of ways to hang those cat ornaments from the blinds year round. Or at least til Summer :)
It was worth it!! Your tree is lovely and I love all your whimsical ornaments!
I hear you on the tree light troubles!! If only they would just start making those darn things better so we wouldn't need to suffer like this every year.
And I love the cat in the hot air balloon. completely adorable.
Chic on the Cheap
Good work Carrie! Looks great:-)
And hurray for Seattle!!! Hee hee
I have almost everything done. shopping and all decor is done, hosting parties, done! Sewing a quilt for hubby, DONE! Soooo excited to just sit back and enjoy:-)
Beautiful tree friend! Gorgeous!!
Oh my! I love the cats ! So adorable ♥
Its beautiful and so bright! the X's O's
are my favorite. Great job, and Happy holidays!
(:
Cute ornaments!
