Someone Call 911 We've Got a Shoe Down

Anyone following me on twitter knows I am a huge fan of Nancy Grace (and Dateline and 20/20 as evidenced here and here but that's another story).  Very seldom does a day go by when I am not found, at 4:58pm, skidding across the livingroom to get the perfect spot on the couch just in time to hear Nancy scream out, "THIS JUST IN...".  She advocates for missing persons, victims and victims families more than anyone else out there.  (Speaking of which did you catch last week when she dropped the bomb that Beth Holloway Twitty snuck into Castro Castro in Peru to go face-to-face with Joran Van der Sloot and let him know she won't rest until she finds out what he did with Natalee's body?!?!?!  And did you hear when Nancy divulged the news that sicko VdS  has been getting conjugal visits from random women and having big ol' parties while in there too?!?!?  I was so ENRAGED I took to the phone lines to see if I could get through to Nancy and have her send me on location with Jean Casarez.  At least send me out to speak with Beth Holloway Twitty, Nancy!! I think I missed my calling.  How I would love to be a reporter!  Beth are you out there?? We need to talk - no more prison visits where you could be killed lady!!  One day you will testify against urine Joran...).

Anyway.  I digress.

But speaking of victims...BOMBSHELL TONIGHT!  A crime has been committed in shoeville and Inspector Shoeseau (aka me) is on the case bringing you all the latest.

UGG For Jimmy Choo (or is that UGH?)

From now on I think I will just refer to it as "That Ain't Right"
Here we have the Mandah.  Only $795. (yeah. get there)
What was that?  A little pricey for you?
How about the Starlit?  Only $595.
You prefer something a little taller?
(please tell me you've been drinking for 3 days straight and don't realize this is a bedazzled Ugg)
How about the Sora?  Comes in chocolate and black too.
Oh yeah before I forget $695.
Trying to get your animal print on for fall?
Here's the Kaia in Zebra.  Also a mere $595.

I'm sorry but this collaboration is an atrocity.  I don't care if Nikki Hilton is wearing it (did Paris slip her some coke?? sorry I couldn't resist).  Actually I don't care if the QUEEN herself is endorsing it, the whole thing is just wrong.

Now don't get me wrong.  I love an UGG.  Roll your eyes or whatever, but it's the beach and it's Southern California - we UGG.  I'm even guilty of UGG's and shorts.  Shoot me.  I can deal with it.  I used to be the biggest UGG hater of them all.  Until I found myself lying face down on the sidewalk outside of church one morning after getting scared to death by a barking rabid dog - that I thought was going to get out of its fence when it was only the neighbor's gate that was opening after all - having severely twisted my ankle on a jagged piece of sidewalk while looking terrified for the dog instead of keeping an eye on where I was going (think MAN DOWN! I actually screamed and gagged all at once as I flailed to the ground).  Guess what?  The only thing my foot could fit into was an UGG or a flipflop.  In November.  And so a hypocrite died convert was born.

However UGG + Bedazzler = disaster.  Throw in some fringe and it's a disaster duo.  Or is that trio?  I'm so baffled!!  Undoubtedly we will see the Hollywood wallets strolling in their jeweled UGG's (that will be "gifted"), but I will not be swayed.  Not even when they're marked down to $34.99 will I be donning a pair of these.  However if you stare at them long enough you actually start to consider it.  Step away from the Mandah.  Or I'll call Nancy Grace to unleash the lawyers!!  She is all about preventing crime before it occurs!!

UGH is right! I can't get over those prices. I think the bedazzlement should stay at the craft store.

Argh, totally agree with you.
Uggs and bedazzlements don't go together.
It's like visual death. =x

Oh God, I actually linked to these on my Facebook the other day. I really never like Jimmy Choo shoes... this collab is a serious nightmare. It's just... why?

I actually went to Junior High with Natalee Holloway at Mountain Brook in Alabama (thank God I no longer live there). I was in the grade below her, she was close friends with my neighbors. I still cannot believe what happened to her. There is a group on Facebook called "Let's Plug the BP Oil Spill with Joran van der Sloot."

Nancy Grace makes me nervous (anyone who gets worked up on TV makes me nervous, there's a lot I don't watch... like any news... ever... anyway) but you make me want to tune in. Now I AM all over some Natalee Holloway coverage for 5 years now cause she was a Birmingham girl, like myself.

I want to jump on the UGG bandwagon but 1) I live in AL. Its 100 degrees right now. I wish I was kidding. 2) I feel about 8 years too late to the party.

Inspector Shouseau and Nancy Grace need to do something about that collab. That is some mayhem and it ain't pretty.

I'm with you on this one sister, then glittery UGGS are just E(UGG)H! If i wore these I'd expect to be chased by a rabid dog! No way, keep the UGG classic and not E(UGG)H ! xx

Now, if only you could lump together you life as Nancy Grace AND Oprah, you'd be set!

Seriously, I couldn't believe this collaboration. I was expecting some hot heels with sherpa lining or leather accents .... not this.

I love UGGs. But I've been on the bandwagon for quite sometime now. Going to college in New Hampshire, UGGs were just "right." These shoes are so wrong in so many ways.

You totally missed your calling as a reporter! And those Uggs are fug-ly. I own a pair of the originals, but I'll leave the bedazzled ones to the Hiltons.. haha

HAHAHA, okay, whenever I go to read a blog entry, I do a general scan of the whole thing first (I get excited for pictures) and then go back to the top to read, so at first, I saw all of those photos and was like "Noooo! She can't like these!" - so I was very relieved to read the text that went along with these photos!! They are the ugliest shoes I've ever seen. Just hideous!

Unknown said...

i agree those "ugg" like shoes are SO NOT working for me - and you UGG and SHORTS in CA?!?! .. it's one of my pet peeves, Uggs and Shorts - i think Uggs should only be worn in cold weather for the purpose of comfort and warmth ... *sorry*

Connie @ SogniESorrisi said...

Those pics got progressive worse. Eeek. Or ugh. Not sure which.

As for Joran that dude really deserves whatever is coming to him and I'm not talking conjugal visits.

Lisa Griffin said...

I have to say I sported some uggs when I actually lived in Australia (hello where they were born until some corporation stole the name!) but i haven't actually worn them here. They look delightful and cozy, these however look like they should be no where outside a trailer park. Nancy Grace- don't get me started, what is this new show she has that is constantly being promoted with her screaming at me??

Unknown said...

omg i'm so glad you said those were ugly!! lmao

and I agree with Tiptoe butterfly, but maybe i'm just a hater?

THANK YOU. I saw these a few days ago on Saks and was befuddled. Maybe this would have flown outside a Starbucks in 2001 but... oh dear god... terrible.
And the price!

It's like a slap in the face to anyone who's consciously tightening their budget in tough times. Shitty looking uggs for $700? Bastards.

Rissy said...

my feelings are basically exactly the same as yours... even though I'm rockin the Ugss over here in MD... a bedazzled UGG offends me.
I wanted a football jersey the other day and was appalled that the only one I could find with the appropriate number was bedazzled. GROSS
oh and those uggs are heinous

We don't have cable anymore but there are serious periods of my life that NG was my fav show- The Peterson case, Elizabeth Smart and Holloway- come to mind but there are MANY more.
I LOVE Uggs and I certainly don't give a flying puck if they are ugly. I simply HATE cold feet and Uggs are the ONLY SHOE IN THE WORLD that prevent me from having cold toes.
I get a pair every season for the last- probably 8 years- I alternate between replacing tall, short and slippers-
Beddazle Uggs are uglier. Seriously 595!?

I don't like these.
I've been waiting for the ugg to fall out of favor, but it seems what the public really wants is to just be comfortable. No matter what the cost (literally, figuratively, morally)...
I don't understand. I can probably write a list of a thousand things I'd rather spend $500 than those boots. Including comfortable, warm stylish winter boots.
I got a pair by Pajar last year and I love them.

I'm with you on this one...What was Choo thinking? I bet Jersey Shore will all be wearing them! And it's very true, Ugg is a Cali girl thing, if you don't like em don't look. Yes we wear them in 70 degree weather! lol. Well at least I've seen it done. And they are dang comfy too!

Taj! I was such a hater and now I've been a lover for years!! When I first moved here I guffawed at the UGG wearers. When I twisted my ankle outside of church and my foot slid into my first pair (ever so begrudgingly) I was a goner.

And yes - I have been known to don a pair in the evening with shorts for a grocery run. It's the BEACH! hehe

xoxo,

HAHA! I laughed out loud at "That Ain't Right". I agree! Bedazzled Uggs just do not work. I'm definitely not an Ugg hater, I think of them the same way I think of flip flops. I love them because they serve a purpose, are comfy, and have grown to love the look. The only reason I don't have a pair of Uggs is because my feet are always hot and as comfy as they are, the only time I've tried them on, I think I had a hot flash. But if I lived in say...Chicago...you'd find multiple pairs in my closet. Count on it.

Seriously, Carrie, you have called attention to a crime of the worst sort. WTFUGG? I gotta say, I hate uggs (just cause I think they're uggly), and I can't believe Jimmy Choo deigned to partner up with them! Maybe it's all a cosmic joke to see who will fall for it and pay hundreds of dollars for horrifying looking "designer" "boots." (I can't even REALLY call them boots). I'm gonna just cover my eyes whenever I see them from now on. Gross.

I'm not even going to waste time on the shoes, ahem-Uggs. Moving on, yeah i'd like to get my hands on Sloot although they're so skinny that they more than likely wouldn't efficiently inflict the harm that he deserves. Lucky for him, he doesn't live in the world that i've created in my minds for criminals. I'm like a bounty hunter in my mind who "deals" with the bad guys. I watch Nancy but i try to avoid her because i get too emotional and then i have to watch HGTV to mellow/calm me down before i go to bed. Ok, i've yapped enough:-) xx

Loving this post! I looove Nancy Grace, I love everything the woman stands for and how she is NOT afraid in speaking her mind, I think she is awesome! I find myself fist pumping in the air everytime she speaks and Im like "YEAH! NANCY! PREACH IT SISTER!" She is a force to be reckoned with that is for sure....

I loooove UGGS....I hate to see the season go when I have to put mine back in their little card board home....Its like wearing a house shoe but a fashionable house shoe. I have played with the idea of wearing them with shorts but in KY and in December, I can't get away with that look quite like YOU can sister! haha

Thank you for the sweet sweet words about my Nan Carrie!! :) Hope you had a great day!!

hahah, love this. I do like some fringe on my boots.. I'm wearing a pair of fringe boots right now but literally- all of these designs look like 1994, do they not? Just ugly. You are so right to point out the ugliness of them. I am not a fan. I love Uggs too... not even because they're popular, like you said- once I slipped my foot into one, I was hooked, they are SO comfortable. Also that Nancy Grace stuff is funny, I'm not a big fan of her show because I hate the constant fake "breaking news" banner- I always have to discern what is really news and what isn't. However, I am in love with true crime. Don't even get me started on Joran Van Der Sloot! I can't believe him.
