Weekend Blur

Saturday found us in a mess of wind, rain and slow a** drivers as a storm rolled
through Southern California.  We had to meet the designers at the restaurant
rather early (read: before noon which is like 6am to me--sad but true), so I rolled out
of bed and tossed on a grandpa sweater, a pair of jeans and some trusty boots.
Why did I ever leave Seattle again?

Sample of one of the presentation boards they put together for us.
After watching this stuff on tv for so many years it's been fun and interesting to watch
these people work their magic to come up with the coolest ideas.
What we have is a bare demo'd room at present, so we're pretty excited to see how it
all comes together. I'll share pictures when it's all finished!

On a random note:  I passed out on the couch pretty early on Friday night only to awake to
this hot mess staring me in the face around 3am.
Do the words 'stay out of the water' mean nothing anymore??!?
Disney's Oceans was on and, as someone who is a member of the JAWS generation,
the shark parts hit just a lit-tle too close to home.  Dry land people.  Dry land!!
Needless to say I sat there riveted for the last half of the movie.
Think deer in the headlights.

You'll notice Instagram has once again dominated the Saturday activities.  Perhaps I'll pull it together enough to locate my real camera at some point this week.  Niiiiiiiice.  Blame it on all the naps I needed to take and movies I needed to watch this weekend. Ha!  What were you up to?

I am with you about the dry land. When shark week hits discovery channel in august (I think it is august).....plan on me being on the couch for a week and dvr-ing the shows when I have to work. Haha. Terrifying, but riveting. I blame it on Jaws too. I can hear the music now.
Can't wait to see how the room turns out. So exciting!

I have a completely rational and horrible fear of sharks so when I saw this photo I quickly scrolled down to tell you that. I hate them. Hate them hate them.

I love your boots, Carrie. And I hate to say it but I'm with you on the whole pre-noon weekend thing. It's good to know that it's okay to be a grownup and still be unable to make it anywhere on weekend mornings. I was getting worried.

I actually got up at 4:30 am to stand in line for a sale this weekend. Now I can check "Standing In Line Ridiculously Early While Being Filmed By A News Crew So Everyone Can Laugh At The Crazies When It Airs At A Time When It's Normal To Be Awake" off my list.

I wish I looked as cute as you when I "throw on" clothes. As for sharks I am 100% with you. I love the ocean and enjoy sitting on the beach where its safe. The few times I've ventured into the dangerous waters I nearly died from panic attacks. There is no reasoning with a shark people!

P.S. That shark picture creeps me the eff out.

That grandpa sweater is AMAZING-but the "Really, you want to take a photo of me?" face might even be better. Can't wait to hear more about the design-it looks like it's going to be amazing!

Comfy clothes, sleeping in, & tv . . . blissful! This weekend I made butternut squash soup for the first time and it was SO GOOD (recipe on my blog). I also tried to copy Rutherford Grill's kale salad and got pretty damn close. Other than that, I watched some Sons of Anarchy, drank a little too much wine, and played board games with neighbors. :)

even thought I have to be up before 7 on weekdays, getting out of the house before noon on a weekend might as well be 6 am for me as well.

perfect roll out of bed and pull it together outfit though.
