Twilight Breaking Dawn: Innocence is Dead

Remember this Edward and Bella?  Well kiss it goodbye.

On Saturday I ventured out to see a matinee of Twilight:  Breaking Dawn.
And yes I am admitting it despite being moderately horrified.
I've never read the books and only caught the other movies when they hit HBO, but
found them pretty entertaining despite the cheese factor.  Okay because of the cheese factor.
That being said I was completely caught off guard when Edward decided to chew
the baby out of Bella's womb during childbirth.  I'll give you a moment to let that sink in.
I mean I get that it was a super strength baby and all, but really??
It's been 36 hours since the movie ended and I'm still jacked up.

Did you catch it this weekend?  Thoughts?
And what on earth with the blood shakes?  Gagging.

Never can see any of these movies. Never, never, never. I'm doubting I can sleep tonight after reading about it.

Uhhhhh. I'm wih Katie. Probably shouldn't have read that right before bed. :) I've never read the books and or seen any of the movies. . . and I think I might be pretty grateful about that.

. . . off to dream about God knows what. . .

Sounds horrifying. I saw the first two movies and haven't been able to bring myself to watch the others. Too much cheese, I think, and I LOVE cheese.

Hope you don't have nightmares. xx

HE WHAT?! Oh, now I'll be all jacked up for the rest of the year. Urgh. There's a reason I don't go near that stuff.

That actually makes me want to see it.
Out of curiosity I suppose.
But I'm twisted like that.

Say what?? Why?? I guess I'll have to wait until it hits the Redbox before I found out the reason. I've watched the others and figured I might as well finish out the series.

I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard really mixed reviews about it. Seems like everyone either loves it or hates it!

I took BF to see one of the movies in the theatres and I don't think I'll subject the poor fella to that again - and I'm not into having a gaggle of grown-ass women giggling it up in the theatre either. I am actually more curious after the last movie, 'cause isn't that when Bella is (finally) a vamp and doesn't have to play all victim-y anymore?

I read all the books in the span of about two weeks a few years ago. Even though I was prepared for some of the aspects of this movie, it still made me cringe. I'm right there with you.

I've never read the books or seen the movies. I think it's time to go see one of these cheesy flicks.

I already was pretty uninterested in seeing this, but your description has me cowering in the corner. And I shouldn't be shocked cause I read the books. But EW. EW.

I'm pretty much anti-Twilight because, to me, a vampire that GLITTERS upon venturing into the sunlight is not a creature of the light, but a My Little Pony. But what you just said sounds so completely horrifying i actually feel compelled to see it for myself.

You were lucky last time, wanna try again? Giveaway!

I refuse to see it because of the gore and especially because of the blood drinking.

Wow - just lost a little respect for you. Haha, I kid, I kid! I'm all about guilty pleasures. But he chewed her womb? Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!

lol I saw it!!! Ugh so gross

Johanna said...

Dear God! I never got into this book series but that sounds...kinda nauseating. Yikes!

Not to worry, Marissa. I'm right there with you.

Never read the books and am now blaming this entire fiasco on Verizon Fios. Without it I never would have gotten sucked in in the first place. FAIL

Just watched Breaking Dawn today! Gotta say that scene was less graphic than they could've made it, as it was from Bella's point of view, flashing in and out - and I'm super grateful for that!

you HAVE to read the books. I was a self-admitted twilight hater once upon a time. I was all- that's stupid. I'm smarter than those books. And then the first movie came out and my Aunt asked me to see it with her (and you can't say no to elderly aunts.) And within four days of seeing the first movie, I had read them all. And yes the last one is the darkest, but they did also pick an awkward place to end the movie/split the book. But I also agree that they made KStew look way too disgusting. I need to see it again next week to fully process the situation....

and after that review i still can't wait to catch it with my little sister, haha.

I am yet to read the books or see any of the movies...just don't have the urge you know?! I assume it's like sex..if you've never had it you don't know what your missing!!! Boom.

LyddieGal said...

I have read the books, and I can say this much - the movies make more sense when you can actually fill in the blanks.
Not that I am a huge fan or anything, I read them because of all the hype and I see the movies because they are fun.

But damn. How I would have traded every second of that child birth scene for a sex scene.

There wasn't one in the book at all, so it makes sense that there would be just as little in the movie, but COMEON. Feathers? Trashed bedroom? I wanted to see it so bad.
I'm pathetic.
I need a man.

stylenuggets said...

Chewed? That sounds UggggH! And I never read that in the book or did I? Yes I did read the books - all of them. Don't judge, people!

Bombchell said...

havent read the book, but someone who read it told me bout that scene

Caitlin @ Candyfloss & Persie said...

HJAHAHAH, read the book- it goes into even further and more disgusting detail about all of that. I have now seen the movie twice and though it has its moments of CRAZINESS, it stays pretty true to the book and is enjoyable for what it is. I thought Jasper was the best, he's such a bad actor!! haha.

danielle said...

hahaha- so i've read all the books. and i too was taken a back by that. i said to my friend as we walked out "do you feel like there were parts in that that weren't in the book? i.e. him eating the baby out of her stomach." they definitely made up for all the cheese and sexual tension from the last 3 films. needless to say, i loved the rest of the movie.

jamie said...

Here's the thing...you're right, he definitely did that, but I forgot until you mentioned it. I think this is b/c after reading the books, you are so tied into the love story that you get that he would do anything to save her...and that is why I think so many (woman) are obsessed with Twilight...the way the books describe Edwards love is...well, a fairytale. Something everyone wishes they had. This is why I think perhaps the vulgarness of that scene went unnoticed by people who have read the books. And might I add that the books blow the movies out of the water. In fact, the movies are really just shit in comparison!! LOL

I agreed, against my better judgement, to see this tomorrow night with two girlfriends who cannot WAIT to see it. I suddenly realised what I was letting myself in for - endless sleepness nights & nightmares - so have had to chicken out!!

By the way, whenever I think of Shopbop I think of you - I have a $100 giftcard giveaway today, come over!! X

Haha I haven't seen it... But I read the books when they came out. It was a great way to connect with my students, you know, talk about Team whoever and all. The movies have been entertaining. I haven't seen this one yet, but I'll be prepared for the teeth tearing if I go! Honestly, what I am more afraid of is watching Kristin Stewart get laid.. I know it is a movie and all, but she is a terrible actress so I can't imagine that scene feels real at all. It might be so fake I'll be grossed out!

Tracy D said...

Um, what was that now? Good God.

heather said...

oh my goodness! all the scenes look so peaceful and loving. i had no idea they would be that bloody gross! haha thanks for the warning, cuz i can't handle that right now!

Estelle Hayes said...

Um, thanks for the heads up on that one. Pretty sure I'll NEVER see it now. Gross.

OneCraftyFox said...

LOL! OK, well, I guess I don't need to keep reading the third book... bwaha ha ha.

I heard how the fourth ended, but why did no one mention the baby womb chewing scene before now??

Kara Endres said...

omg, so I've seen all the movies but I have never considered myself a fan until this one. I had no idea what I had instore, but all I can say is woooooaaaahh and aaaahhhh! It was so gross but I couldn't stop watching and thinking it was the best movie ever. (I may be crazy.) So I went back and re-watched them all. Have to read the books. It was bound to happen, I suppose.
