Yesterday I was perusing Gilt Group (read: screwing around during a conference call) when
I saw this picture out of the corner of my eye. Steve McQueen. Sitting there
all nonchalant, talking on the telephone, cat head calling out to the cat ladies.
As a cat lover (yes I just used the word cat 3x in close proximity) I'm slightly
mortified by the skin on the floor, but the overall vibe of the room is pretty spectacular.
This photo was used as an example of how to incorporate masculine elements into your space.
Note to self: back to scouring flea markets.
ps-I recently read that McQueen was supposed to be at the Polanski/Tate residence
on the night Manson and his crazies committed that mass murder. What a mix of emotions
he must have went through upon learning of the deaths of his friends. Life is crazy.

That's quite a room isn't it...what about the little table with the heads/skulls/faces on it?!
Ah, Steve McQueen.....the Cooler King in "The Great Escape".....great movie!!
Wow, what a space! AND that cat on the floor is a COUGAR!! *sad face*
I guess I deserve it, I was talking about a bear skin rug just last night...
That is an amazing space....I sorta screwed around on my day off today, lol.
How to Write Better Blog Posts
Yeah, I cant imagine a world where i would ever want the head of a dead animal staring at me in my living room. Otherwise the room is pretty cool, though i'd trade the wall to wall carpeting for hard wood floors.
Chic on the Cheap
Yikes, that thing on the floor is a bit heinous, isn't it?
I never really realised how cool Steve McQueen was until recently. He had some sex appeal, that's for sure.
Did you know that his grandson is on The Vampire Diaries? (I am admitting I watch that show. I feel no shame) His name is Steven R. McQueen and there's times you can see a resemblance between them.
That skin is definitely a little crazy. But the vibe is definitely masculine!

Definitely slightly freaked by the rug but overall the vibe is pretty manly and cool. Sold!

If you put Steve McQueen in a room decorated any way it would be manly enough for me. He was a hot thing in my time.
Wow intersting little *fact* Have a great weekend Carrie!
That is crazy! Wow. What a life he led and what an awesome pad he lived it in.
That is a great space. I'm with you on the cat rug though lol, my dogs with have a hayday with that! xo
Well that's a pretty awesome room, although i think the man in my apt has over masculinized the place and i need to regain some territory! although an entire wall of windows would be pretty awesome!

I dont know the Manson story.
I agree with you. The room is great. Love the walls and the way the art is placed but I would lose the rug and the foot stool.
LOVE this space, and that bit of Hollywood trivia-I had no idea! Life is indeed crazy.
i would be scared sitting next to the rug
What an amazing room! I was totally web browsing during a conference call yesterday too ;) It was my day off and I was being a good person taking the call from home so I guess it's ok haha!
you win for weirdest post of the day! lol! i love it!
and i'll take mcqueen's car from bullitt. FUCKING AWESOME CAR! i'll take this living room, too. and maybe even mcqueen himself if he was still kicking!
have a fab weekend! and thanks for being entertaining. i am bored CONSTANTLY (this is a personal problem of mine -- lotto winnings might make this issue disappear), and i appreciate you like you can't believe!

It was the cat head wasn't it? Just admit it. RAWR!! HAHAHA!!
Well that room is quite fabulous if I do say so myself :) And I said wonderful three times in one sentence over on my blog today. Le sigh.
I'm agreeing that the rug is scary. I'm probably bad about not "manizing" my rooms...hell I don't have rooms. I have a studio apartment that I refuse to decorate.
That room is HUGE! I love the walls and the windows. Fabulous.
And I've been great - busy - but great! How about you, girl?!
FYI, I have an obsession with Steve McQueen. I have read literally every.single.biography.ever. on him.
