Bright Bag Small City

Rarely does a weekend go by when the Chef and I aren't racing the clock trying to squeeze an outfit picture in. Truth is, without him there would be no outfit pictures (yes i'm having a moment).  I'm uncomfortable enough as it is and pretty much wither up at the thought of lugging around a tripod (which coincidentally I don't even own - go figure).  When I started blogging last spring time was a luxury because he was still searching out restaurant locations - now he's mere weeks from being open and it's a completely different scenario.  To say we're stretched thin is pretty tame.

Sunday was such a treat. We spent the whole day together, had a leisurely mani-pedi - hey the guy is on his feet non-stop and has custom built so many things for his new place he deserved it - relaxed over lunch and then kicked it into high gear to get the pictures done.  After driving around aimlessly, for what seemed like forever, we haul out both kind of frazzled, and suddenly I got the giggles.  There we were on the bloody sidewalk in a hoity-toity part of the neighborhood where you know people were wondering what we were doing and I just lost it.  I was like 'what the hell was I thinking starting this thing? Look at us. I am standing here in 5 inch purple velvet heels that I never would have dreamed of wearing 18 months ago and you're laying on the sidewalk.  What is happening to us?'  We rolled.  It was the best day yet.

~Gap-Leather Jacket and Denim Trousers (first seen here), La Befana-Silk Blouse,
J.Crew-Belt, Curly in the City-Clutch, Tom Ford-Sunnies, Melinda Maria Jewelry~
Moments earlier...not so composed.  Okay not composed at all.
How about that sassy clutch?  Taylor from Curly in the City started an Etsy shop and can't
keep them in stock. She makes an animal print version, too.  Brace.
I love the contrasting turquoise zipper.
My purple shoes are in favor, too :)
Not sure what I was thinking when I didn't get these Jessica Simpson Dany's in tan.
They were $39 on sale!

Hope your weekends were bright and cheery.  I don't know about you, but I am so excited for the upcoming long weekend.  Only four days to go!

You're so right about outfit pictures. I feel so weird taking them (therefore, never really do).
You know, we are Curly in the City Clutch twins, I have the same one too!

Those shoes are beyond! Love them. Love the clutch. The photo of you laughing is so funny, I totally relate to the awkward feeling when taking photos for the blog. Sometimes I'm taking the cocktail photos and trying to get the right angle and getting frustrated that I can't get the polish color to show properly and I seriously think "WHAT is my life right now, I must be nuts!". Especially when a neighbor walks by my deck doors (which is where I take most photos) and looks in probably wondering what in the world I am doing.

And re: your cocktail comment - I was thinking the same thing this morning! Sometimes I think I should change the cocktail posts to Mondays. It reminds me of that quote: when you win you deserve a drink, when you lose you need one. I think on Fridays we deserve a cocktail, on Mondays we need one!

I gotta get a clutch from Taylor soon! Love those jeans always!

p.s. re: your comment, dressing up and photo shoots are one way to remain young right?

I hear you on finding the time to take outfit pictures. The bf takes mine too and some days (with his job) there really is no time so... no outfit photos!

I love the dani's in the purple velvet, I think you made the right choice in choosing them over the tan!!

Hey, we both wore our clutches this weekend! I love the brightness of yours. If Taylor keeps churning out the fabulous clutches, I might have a whole rainbow by the end of the summer.

You never cease to amaze me with how well you pull of these 70's elements. You are my idol!! I love those platforms and would totally be all over them if I wasn't afraid of twisting my ankle.

I take pictures in front of my building and I know my neighbors wonder what the hell I'm doing. I try not to get too self-conscious and luckily, the bf totally goes with it.

Seriously, I'm going to have to get one of Taylor clutches, y'all are killing me with the awesomeness! I feel you on the no tripod thing, just not up for it...behind most outfit posts is a patient boyfriend ;) Glad you guys got some fun time together, wish Chef could let my hubby know that pedi's are cool. (He's actually ok with the idea, more like embarrassed at his current feet situation!

I can't believe not one person has commented on my glittery gold belt. I think everyone's blinded by the clutch and shoes!

Those shoes are amazing, and I love the clutch. After seeing your comment I had to go back up to see your belt, it's really cute. But, I think you're right we were blinded by the shoes, and bag. I'm glad you two got to have a relaxing day together. Sounds like his restaurant is really coming together.

Dear lord, Carrie, you look KILLER. I'm obsessed with your bright yellow clutch (Taylor for the win!) and those fantastic purple heels.

And I totally know what you mean about blogging... I hang out on street corners posing for pictures wearing clothes I never would have worn a year and a half ago and every once in awhile I just realize what I'm DOING!
