Hit the Wall

This is approximately how I feel after dealing with Target online and in-stores yesterday.

Due to exhaustion and disgust I will post an update tomorrow.
In the meantime:
A big look of disdain to all the soccer moms who mowed through everything in local
Targets at 8am leaving nothing behind for anyone else to even try on
much less contemplate purchasing.
Do ya really need one of each thing in multiple sizes? Really?

Two local Targets reported
incidents of grown women punching, slapping and grabbing items
out of one another's hands.
Manners are dead in Southern California.

And I haven't even gotten to the online "experience".

*Grouch in the house*
Need to catch up on sleep since I got approximately 20 minutes last night.

I was so disappointed I didn't get to a Target today, but maybe I should be glad I didn't. That sounds dangerous. There are about 6 or 7 Targets here so I was thinking of maybe going tomorrow to see if there is possibly anything left...

That sounds like a nightmare! Sort of like Black Friday shopping, no? I was super jealous that I couldn't go to a Target, but now I'm not so sure...

I woke up sick 20 min ago. Logically I'm sure my Crohns is the culprit but I'm blaming Missoni for Target.

Hi Carrie, this is my first time commenting on your blog ( love it by the way!). I did make it to my local target yesterday hoping to get the Missoni throw blanket. Luckily there was one left! If you are able to grab one definitely do, it is gorgeous! Wish I could find more since they are selling for over $200 on EBay right now!

I'm so glad I can't stand Missoni. I hate sharp points in a pattern. I love flow. So I'll pass. I hope you can get what you want.

Though I don't consider myself a soccer mom, I WAS there at 8 a.m., almost by myself, and was able to score the three things I wanted most, but seriously? The eBay shit is, well, BULLSHIT.

P.S.
I love your labels.

mwah!

I heard it was just insane! Why don't they just make more than enough, and grown people stop acting like children!

I experienced that yesterday, too! It was crazy to see grown women (and moms who should be good examples for their children) running around yelling and grabbing things!

I'm sorry you were frustrated but Target? Even though a famous designer created the pieces, the quality is nothing like the real deal. Basically they are making their own knock-offs. You have so many nice things, what do you need to buy that crap for? Forget it and move on!

hmmm, as one of those soccer moms that picked up a few things, I'm not quite sure how to take this haha! But I consider myself a true fashion die hard and have looked up to Missoni for years after since working for the other well known knit house, St. John for a long long time. Here's my take on the madness yesterday http://fourflightsoffancy.blogspot.com/2011/09/worthwhile-escapism-missoni-for-target.html

I'm sorry that you weren't able to get what you want. Target should have had a 5-item minimum so everyone could get a chance.

I got one Missoni piece at the store yesterday, I posted about it, with photos, on my blog today.

I wonder if this happened at our store. I heard on TV it was enough to shut down Target online. Sorry. Hope they will offer more.

I hadnt heard. Must google!

i wouldn't even venture to the stores! - i knew the things i REALLY wanted were "on-line" only - but a big ole f*ck me in the butt with a rubber hose when the site CRASHES! .. i read too many horror stories on FB and said screw that crap! -- i ordered it all on-line FINALLY -- and did u see on eBay - stuff is going for HUNDREDS of dollars for a $30 item! - CRAZY!

I know it was nuts right?! I found myself thinking "This stuff isn't THAT cute! Christ!" LOL!!!
I have yet to get a single thing and honestly if it's sold out that means EVERYONE will be wearing it so who the hell cares anyway. (Bitter party of one?)

Yeesh!
I thought about going to target yesterday... but in the end, I got a coffee and decided I'd wait for the crazed people buying multiples to come to their senses, return them and leave them for me to snatch up on clearance.

Thank GOD that Missoni isn't my cup of tea. From the sound of things, I would have probably been maimed!

Tiffany Kadani said...

No way! Grown women getting physically violent over clothes? That is nuts!

Dear Target- do not underestimate the insanity of women and fashion.

Hugs to you.

All I wanted was One. Damn. Blanket.

Not only did they not have a single one online (after 20 hours of trying to even GET online) but every store in the entire state was sold out of them?

Something is not sitting right here. This is Colorado. WTF!

I curse you evil soccer moms who have scooped up every single item in TWELVE different Target stores near me. And I refuse to buy your stupid things on Ebay. So there!

Wow. Sounds like a bunch of neanderthals were at Target yesterday!

yikes! you're like the millionth person who had a bad time at target :(

I was amazed by all this craziness yesterday. How gross are the people selling this shit on ebay for much higher prices? I don't understand it, but then again, I'm not really a Missoni girl . . . too 70s-esque for my style. Either way, though, nothing is worth grabbing and slapping! Dignity, folks. UNDERRATED.

Catita said...

Due to the time difference I was able to go on their website and have all for myself except for the whole part of using a non-american credit card...even though I was going to ship it at my cousin's in NY...oh well no Missoni for Target for me but I guess they'll get more? It says its till Oct. 13 no?

I thought it was hilarious. I was mystified why all these frumpy ladies were clearing out the shelves of Missoni until I got home and my husband told me to check out eBay. Aha. I do wish I would have been able to get more towels - I genuinely love Missoni and my husband usually buys my one piece a year so this was a fun opportunity to get more!

Missoni is my favorite designer so I was soooo excited for this, and my experience was pretty much like yours. The clothing section was completely picked through...there were four styles left and they weren't in my size. I went to the home section to find a crowd of insane Russian women surrounding some employees unpacking boxes of Missoni stuff. One woman was trying to grab things out of the boxes before the employees could even handle them. I managed to get a throw (which someone tried to steal out of my basket), some votives and a vase, and the world's cutest onesie for my friend's daughter. The quality is actually surprisingly good for the price! I may go back on Friday to see if anyone's returned anything. The lady at the checkout said people were buying $5-$6k worth of merchandise.

fools are those actually paying the ebay prices!

Christina you're so lucky to have gotten a throw! I'm glad you didn't have to throw a PUNCH to keep it in your cart!! xo

kimbirdy said...

that's absolutely insane! i don't get it at all. although i've never heard of misorri {or whatever it was} so i probably wouldn't get it. but no matter who the designer is and no matter what store it's being sold at, really? violence over a shirt? ridiculous.
