Restaurant Update...Pass the Knick Knacks

Okay am I the only one out there who is so glad it's Friday they wanna marry it?  This week went by in a blur of boxes piled everywhere, hectic days at work, the car locked in the garage, and yesterday morning a gas leak.  Yes friends I said gas leak.  Just what I need:  to kick off in the confines of my own home without one last swig of Don Julio on a Friday night.

Seriously though:  gas leak = no bueno

Thankfully it's all fixed, however the car is still in the garage.  One thing at a time, Carrie - this has become my mantra.  I do believe the Chef and I are chanting it in our various locales throughout the day.  He's up to his eyeballs in renos and building codes and inspectors, so it's been a wild one.  Here's to a light at the end of the tunnel for each of us.  In the meantime here are a few pictures of what's going on.  This was very early in the week and I kinda got wound up in the artifacts so this is less progress and more me making a mental note of things I wanna cart out of the place.  Is there such a thing as Asian boho chic when discussing interiors?

 Here's what it was....
Aaaaaaand....
Here's what's left of it. Pretty much cleared out.
They primed the ceiling today so I have to get in there for some more update pictures.
And to make sure no one runs off with (read:  the Chef is persuaded to sell)
that dragon.  Not sure where I'll put him, but he's pretty cool.
As is this fabulous screen.  Mother of Pearl!  On the screen and also one of my
fave expressions however that alone may not be grounds enough to escape with it.

Whatever the case may be hopefully I'll have time to bust over there and get some more updates before the end of next week.  What do you guys have planned for the weekend? Saturday will find me glued to the maison as I try to get the clutter out from in front of the television so as to resume the 30 Day Shred.  I'm actually terrified of the pending pain of diving back in.  *ouch* *ouch* *ouch*  Perhaps I'll make time to take in some fresh air, but that would involve taking a shower and readying myself for public and right now I'm all about a nap.  Have a great one whatever you do.  Oh and if you're going to Coachella - steer clear of the vomit piles and don't forget your deodorant.  Good luck with that!

I feel robbed...there was so much and I didn't escape w/much because he was able to sell a lot of it. I did manage to secure an AMAZING silk embroidered picture straight from the Orient. Prepare to fall over on the ground. I think of it about 10x a day!! As soon as I get it in the house will most def showcase on here. That and the foo dogs off the roof. Hell yes I just said that.

Weeeeeeeeekend!

Carrie

Lady, everything happened to you this week! But I like you mantra, one thing at a time. I also recommend "keep calm and drink champagne". Works for me all the time.
Enjoy your weekend.

Sorry about the gas leak - good luck with the rest of it. That dragon DEF is fantastic. You should big time find a way to feature it!!!

I share in your Friday excitement. And enthusiasm and location uncertainty of the dragon. He needs a name.
A lot is going on in bird world! But progess is made each day, whether it feels like it or not :) Hope you get some rest!

I love all those restaurant decor treasures! You need to start a Curios From the Far East shop or something (hey, I'd shop there). Good luck this weekend!

Girl, this has been quite a week. Truly, nothing can compare to the crazy of your move, car debacle and GAS LEAK, but let's just say I did a celebratory dance this morning when I thought about how tomorrow was Saturday, AND I asked John if a plaid shirt effectively communicated, "F*ck it, it's Friday."

Thank heavens for tequila!

oh my goodness, you have had quite the week! one thing after another. well, that must mean you have a long string of quiet, peaceful days coming up soon in your future. the universe totally owes you. and i can't wait to see what the restaurant will look like!!

Sadly, I'm passed the days of music festivals. I just can't hang anymore. A quiet evening at an outdoor amphitheater is much more my speed. And as for the nap--let me tell you, I cannot WAIT to sleep in tomorrow for the first time in God knows how long. It's gonna be amazing.

Good luck organizing (and shredding)--I'm sure your new apartment is gonna look fantastic.

Wait. Gas leak? What?! This sounds dangerous. But as long as everyone and everything is okay, I suppose I won't ask you to relive it by giving us more details. Yuck! Seriously.

I've been silently following along on your restaurant adventures. I shall await more updates patiently! I'm excited.

I think anything can be boho chic if you put your mind to it. That dragon is awesome. See I would do something totally nuts, and make him into a table (put a glass top on him), or a lamp. I'm completely exhausted, and don't have a day off until Monday. Excuse my crazy babble.

Yeah, i've been daydreaming about the weekend since Monday:-). Did i tell you that i'm back in the classroom-teaching, so life has been one crazy ride-literally no down time. Anyway, a gas leak is always so scary-glad it's fixed. You may have just coined a new decor term-asian boho chic:-). love it and it's so you too! hope you get to relax this weekend, that's my only goal for this weekend...XX

Just saw your post on Ruche... I've only ordered one thing from Ruche before, and the sizing was pretty normal. There is a "size chart" on the website that you might want to check out.

And that lace dress is A-MAZING - and so cheap too. I think you should go for it!!

Dig the screen... don't let it get away! My grandparents traveled all over China and Japan and have all kinds of great stuff I covet, and if they can work it into a beach cottage style house, I'm positive you can make it boho.

please no kicking off in your apt...!

Good luck to the chef in his marathon sprint!
