TGIF for reals

You may be saying to yourself, "what is that woman doing with wings and beer on her blog?"  The Chef's birthday is coming up next week and this is what he asked for.  Actually he also asked for Domino's pizza and several other crazy food items reminding me of more reasons I appreciate this person.  He's super talented at fancy shmancy food, but by no means a food snob - meaning Del Taco remains in our top five places at 2am.  Can you say addicted?

Hopefully by the time Monday rolls around I will have pulled it off thanks to a handy list or 12.  In the meantime I hope you have a grand weekend.  I've got piles of work to get after in the kitchen so I'm cutting out and almost didn't post today, but due to the red alerts thought I'd let you know I'm still breathing - although I did come close to meeting my waterloo at Whole Foods this afternoon when the Brinks trunk almost ran me over.  All I could think of was all the shoes that would be purchased with the settlement, should I make it out alive from beneath the wheels.

Priorities people, priorities.

I'm so glad this week is over.

Wait!  Bright side, bright side!! I'm on Pinterest!! I'm gonna sit down and pin my brains out later this weekend - WOO HOO!!

Oh!  And a special thank you to Katie for nominating me for the FBFF Blogger Awards over at Modly Chic in the "Real Deal (authenticity) category.  I'm a what you see is what you get kind of person, so it really made my day to be nominated especially in that category.  Mad hugs Katie!!

I was wondering about that email . . . never heard of it and gotta admit that at first I thought it was spam! Glad you're alive and well. I've been buried today too (quarter grades were due an hour ago) but now I have emerged. Without enough energy to write a blog of my own, though! Ehhhhh . . . there's always tomorrow. ;)

p.s. happy bday Chef!

If you find a great wing recipe let me know they are my hubbies favs. So what is this pininterest? Looks fun but I don't know if the fam could stand one more thing I do via internet.

Haaa our men are exactly alike- my husband is this culinary master and I can barely boil waiter.
Also, this is super duper pathetic but I would be thinking the same thing if I almost got run over- "settlement=clothes!"
I haven't been on your blog in a while, so it was really nice to read some archives- loooove your writing, as usual : )

drollgirl said...

i like your settlement idea. lol. kind of. i am always thinking of ways to ESCAPE THE GRIND. sigh. chicken wings and beer might be a suitable distraction while i ponder what risks i am really willing to take to avoid the full-time job. sigh.

have a fab weekend!

Why on earth would I ever question chicken wings and beer? God, I loves me some chicken wings. Junk food is the great unifier... the boyfriend and I share some of our happiest moments with nachos... and eachother... nachos plus us... together. Yeah.

Congrats on the FBFF nom! I *just* joined, haven't done my first post yet!

Sounds like you've got his big day under control :) beer and wings actually sounds good, lol. too bad the baby won't be happy after that combo. guess i'll wait ;) .... I'm also glad you didn't get run over by the Brinks truck, but i am bummed they didn't "bump" you or something with it.. so you could ultimately get some PAYMENT from that. lol

Hello darling and yum. I still haven't tried del Taco though my husband liked it when he lived in LA. I had so much Mexican food the past week, it was awesome!

I got back Thursday but was running around like a mad lady around NYC (my only free day).
Have a lovely weekend and glad to be back checking blogs!
