Breaking All The Rules

Have you seen everyone's winter white challenge posts the past couple days?  Holy mother of pearl they've been off the hook!  Even though I've been hanging off the couch viewing through the veil of delirium it hasn't masked the awesomeness.  Nerd alert:  I love sharing ideas.

I also really appreciate all the kind words and well wishes you've left here.  This plague (thanks Anna) has left me knocked flat out and absent for most of the past couple days.  Yesterday I asked if it was Wednesday...er, not so much.  The Chef's been stopping by to make sure I've still got plenty of dark chocolate, pink grapefruit and broth aka my daily bread and all I seem to be able to eat.  At times like these I realize how lucky I am to have someone who cares about participating in my day to day - every day.

Like a couple of weeks ago when we went to the flea market
and the 85yr old guy at the Native American head dress booth
- who was wearing white sweat socks on his hands just because -
wouldn't sell me the head dress unless I
agreed to also buy the chaps and "pistolis" - wait for it -
...to go with the coordinating cowboy outfit.  Um, no?

What is a pistoli you ask?  A kid's plastic cap gun.  Actually a pair of them.  In between trying not to collapse over sock hands and the feather head dress I'd thrown on in effort to make my best plea (i mean really can you just imagine the outfit posts??  don't worry i haven't given up...), the Chef began bartering with the guy trying to talk pistoli.  At which time he accidentally shot off a cap and I had to fake bending down to tie my flip flop in order not to completely lose it.

White sweat socks on hands are also a faux pas fashion statement to be explored.  Perhaps we should do that challenge next...thoughts?

Bringin' the white denim action today we have:

Here's hoping I can somehow get mobile, bathe and get outside to have my post ready for Thursday.  Dancing on the edge yet again.  Argh

This sock really confuses me, I kinda don´t like the pic... kind of a white-sock-phobie? Dunno!

Go bathe and get well soon :)

Ok I cracked up at the pistolis story.
Keep watching Felicity, I'm sure its going to help. Do you know what this plague is? Bubonic? (I don't think I know any other plagues.) Flu? Crud? My Mom always used to diagnose me with The Crud. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but she'd probably say you have it. (If it is, you lay on the couch and watch TV until it passes.)

I have to bust up laughing. Imagine walking up to a booth and the flea market and having an elderly man approach you wearing white sweat socks on his hands. Imagine it...he had nothing wrong w/his hands (b/c i saw them later) - he was totally just wearing whack old socks on his hands. Then the Chef put them on a couple days later and was walking around to see if I'd notice. BAHAHAHAHA!!

k back to bed now. my 2 hour quota is up

this free bird said...

that was AT the flea market...see I'm out of it.

and katie? this goes beyond the crud. can't eat anything except broth, dark chocolate and citrus. head spins, stomach spins, sore throat, cough and sound like chain smoker. this is like crud to the nth degree...ask your mom what that one is.

i need a pistoli. or is that a canoli?

I'm not sure, maybe you need a shot of whiskey. (Now I've moved past my Mom to my Granddad's recommendations. Welcome to the South, every family member will have a remedy and 5 stories for any sickness you have.)
Hmm so flu maybe? Gah, I'm no doctor but if it's in your chest AT ALL, get to one and get some medicine. I know you said you've have pneumonia before. Pneumonia, bronchitis, anything like that is noooo bueno.

You know, i was about to say no to the whole white socks on the hands being the next challenge... But on second though, that would actually be pretty funny to have a bunch of us post photos wearing them. But we'd have to not say anything about the challenge on our blogs so that when people see a bunch of sock wearing bloggers on a particular day they're like wth?? Ha like a flash mob on the web... U know april fools day is coming up...

Too funny - that would have made one hell of an outfit post!

Seriously adored this challenge, I'm not much of an outfit poster (1st timer!) so it was great to have a little push - open to any more you wanna throw out, except maybe sock hands :)

Firstly, I was you, you were me last week. Wanting to die...Hoping to die... It passes. I had to have a severe round of antibiotics but all in all, it passed. Thank God for friends and boyfriends {not that I have the latter, but ya know, it for sure would've come in handy!}

You're a smart lady, Jude Law will make anyone feel better! and you will my beauty, you will!

I think we can aptly call this the white plague. Here's to hoping for Thursday's photo shoot!

k i just got up and am only 50% woozy. this is a good thing.

now @Nikki - chef didn't have the sock on his hand. the other guy did. chef accidentally set the pistoli off.

and dancing branflake? um yes: it is the white plague. possibly a revival of the black and maybe even a purple one, too. horrid!

I am sick too! Isn't it the pits (and I don't mean brad). I can barely swallow. In any event, your winter white challenge is awesome and I've been enjoying it.

Carrie, I love looking at these! So glad you posed this challenge, cause it's been fun looking at everyone's results. And I've found some great new blogs to read, too! Hope you're seeing the light at the end of the sickness tunnel . . . I'm sure you are seriously ready for the misery to end!

I hope you feel better soon! And LOL to the socks on hands, can't say I've ever seen that one before. When I was young, I was friends with a girl whose mother made us take off our shoes/socks and put on a pair of fresh white socks every time we visited her house - her mom had an entire closet filled with brand new white socks for guests. Idk why I just shared that, lol, but that's my random sock story for the day!
