Breaking All The Rules

Have you seen everyone's winter white challenge posts the past couple days?  Holy mother of pearl they've been off the hook!  Even though I've been hanging off the couch viewing through the veil of delirium it hasn't masked the awesomeness.  Nerd alert:  I love sharing ideas.

I also really appreciate all the kind words and well wishes you've left here.  This plague (thanks Anna) has left me knocked flat out and absent for most of the past couple days.  Yesterday I asked if it was Wednesday...er, not so much.  The Chef's been stopping by to make sure I've still got plenty of dark chocolate, pink grapefruit and broth aka my daily bread and all I seem to be able to eat.  At times like these I realize how lucky I am to have someone who cares about participating in my day to day - every day.

Like a couple of weeks ago when we went to the flea market
and the 85yr old guy at the Native American head dress booth
- who was wearing white sweat socks on his hands just because -
wouldn't sell me the head dress unless I
agreed to also buy the chaps and "pistolis" - wait for it -
...to go with the coordinating cowboy outfit.  Um, no?

What is a pistoli you ask?  A kid's plastic cap gun.  Actually a pair of them.  In between trying not to collapse over sock hands and the feather head dress I'd thrown on in effort to make my best plea (i mean really can you just imagine the outfit posts??  don't worry i haven't given up...), the Chef began bartering with the guy trying to talk pistoli.  At which time he accidentally shot off a cap and I had to fake bending down to tie my flip flop in order not to completely lose it.

White sweat socks on hands are also a faux pas fashion statement to be explored.  Perhaps we should do that challenge next...thoughts?

Bringin' the white denim action today we have:

Here's hoping I can somehow get mobile, bathe and get outside to have my post ready for Thursday.  Dancing on the edge yet again.  Argh

Monday was Hell. Rebel and Wear White.

I would like to begin by throwing up a big middle finger to photobucket.  How in the h*ll can you have 30% space one day and the next be at 10% over capacity?  I am so sick and tired of these hosting joints trying to take advantage of me (and likely others) to make a quick buck.  I deleted a ton of back up pics and STILL it won't budge.  As if I don't know what the tactic is.  Good luck with that!

On another note I would like to formally announce that I am sicker than I have ever been in my adult life, with the exception of the walking pneumonia that damn near claimed my life last year.  Monday consisted of the following:  get up, cry, go back to sleep, get up, drag down hallway, watch lung cancer survivors on Bold & Beautiful, cry, watch commercial about Lucille Ball dying from undetected heart disease, cry, pass out, wake up, sneeze 18 times straight, eat a chocolate, cry...I think you get the idea.  Finally hauling it to the computer to see photobucket wreaking havoc unnecessarily sent me right to the kleenex box.

Jalapeno Cucumber Margarita in the distance...
someday I will drink it  again.  Maybe today.
Straight out of the bottle.  Without the mix.
Please allow me a moment to dry my eyes.

On a 100% more positive note I want to thank EVERYONE who is taking part in the white denim challenge we're having right now.  I managed to sit up for 10 minutes yesterday and read your posts during which time I cheered (and cried some more) out of sheer glee!! I am loving the outfit combos and getting so many awesome ideas.  I don't give a rat's rear end...I wear those mother's year round.

Up today is:
I'll do my best to check in w/all of you later today.  Want to check out everyone's outfits and catch up on blogs, but not sure I'll be able to.  Must get mobile in order to have my post ready for Thursday if I'm not in the hospital.  Only kinda joking.

To Warmer Days Ahead

Well girls today is the beginning of the White Denim in Winter Challenge and it would only figure that I'm seriously under the weather with a cold.  I spent Friday night trying to convince myself that I didn't have a sore throat, only to wake up on the couch Saturday morning barely able to swallow.  Tall tales to self continued well into the evening where reality set in:  someone else would be singing Maneater at a local hang out while I sipped hot tea through a straw.

There is no justice in this wicked world.

I am so looking forward to seeing how everyone styled their whites today.  I'll join in on Thursday as the whitest thing I have to offer right now is my dastardly pale skin.  Here's who's up:

Everyone posts at different times so you might need to visit more than once, but I've already seen Lyddie's and she sent me into tears.  Gorgeous!  Speaking of tears does anyone else cry when they're sick?  I spent Saturday night shivering and weeping away to The Holiday.  Oh Jude Law.  Oh Kate Winslet.  Oh romance.

On that note I leave you with a glimpse into today's outing with the Chef.  Long live boyfriends who don't give a rip about the Super Bowl and running around with plastic cheese on their head while the neighbors get ripped out on pot, screaming and hollering their heads off, using baseball terminology to describe football.  True story.

It's official:  I despise winter.

See you back tomorrow for Round Two of the Whites.  Hope you had a great weekend!
